Games like poe and diablo 39/21/2023 While PoE forces you into choices, Diablo 3 pretty much says: just take as much as you can of everything, don't think too much: "more is better"! ![]() In Diablo 3 resistances and armour are universal and basically the same. Let's take a look at PoE's defenses: energy shield or life, block/dodge and their spell versions, armour and evasion, arctic armour, regen, (instant-)leech, LoH, resistances, max resists. If an item is good then it doesn't become legacy, so legacies are bad items. The existence of legacy is a shame, as legacy almost literally means: "not good for game balance and hence the entire game in itself". They don't rule out good rares (I'm talking about non-legacy!) but are often build-enabling or ingenious in another way. PoE's non-legacy uniques are by far more interesting then Diablo 3's. The genre Diablo 1 started is about complexity and build puzzling and creativity, not just about smashing skulls. If I just want to fight, there are other genres. Out of Diablo 2's simple trees, this beauty was born. It is the best part of the game and a milestone in gaming history. Allows for crazy fun niche builds like a polar bear or valkyriezon.įor Diablo 3, I wanted those things as the core but even better, but PoE succeeded much better then Diablo 3 to do so: Fixed characters so not everybody in the end changes to the most OP cookiecutter builds. It's nice to build up such characters from the beginning. Replayability: after playing a summoner necro, a poison necro is a whole different story. ![]() defenses: block, armour rating, passive defenses (pally slow aura, amazon evade.), weakening curses, resistances, life.). Different mechanics, forcing you to make choices (e.g. Interesting uniques with special abilities (/runewords). Well, for me PoE IS Diablo 3, as it is exacly what I wanted after Diablo 2, which I played for about ten years.
